Majlis Interior Design in Dubai UAE | Royal Arabic Styles

Majlis Interior Design and Decoration

Every culture has a room where reputation lives. In the Gulf, that room has a name: the Majlis. Long before a guest tastes your gahwa, the majlis has spoken for you. The proportions of the seating. The quality of the light. Whether the room welcomes twelve as effortlessly as it honours forty.

Majlis Styles We Master

Royal Classic Arabic

Carved gypsum, gilded detail, grand chandeliers, and full-perimeter formality. The language of the great Riyadh majlis, executed with restraint that keeps grandeur from becoming weight.

Modern Najdi

Saudi Arabia's ascendant style, aligned with the Salmani architectural identity: earthy palettes, triangular and geometric motifs drawn from Najdi heritage, clean-lined seating, and craft details in leather and brass. Deeply rooted, unmistakably contemporary and the most requested direction among our Riyadh clients today.

Contemporary Emirati

Dubai's signature: monolithic stone, warm neutrals, sculptural lighting, and mashrabiya reinterpreted in metal and light. Tradition, spoken in the present tense.

Art Deco Majlis

Our namesake fusion: stepped ceilings, fluted panels, brass and velvet a natural marriage, since Art Deco and Islamic geometry share the same love of symmetry and pattern. A signature few studios anywhere can be executed anywhere.

Minimalist Majlis

For the modernist host: floor-level seating reimagined with tailored precision, raw stone, and light as the primary ornament. The design conversation is about translation keeping the room's social geometry and generosity while speaking Dubai's contemporary architectural language.

Our Process: Majlis & Social Architecture

01 / The Gathering Audit

Uncovering visitor volume, social etiquette, segregated majlis layouts, cardamom coffee ceremonies, and the elevated milestones your venue must honor.

02 / Vision & Form

Spatial blueprints honoring regional customs, twilight-mode 3D renders, and tactile swatches blending central Najdi earthiness with Gulf limestone finishings.

03 / Technical Integration

Detailed ceiling frameworks, seated-height lighting metrics, sound attenuation, incense extraction systems, and discreet back-of-house circulation pathways.

04 / Turnkey Delivery

Executing our own blueprints directly through internal site management and primary contracting across Riyadh and Dubai. A unified team delivering identical excellence in two capitals.

05 / Artisanal Furnishings

Tailored majlis lounges constructed within our joinery shop, bespoke crafts curation, and fine-tuned staging down to the ultimate interior touchpoint.

How We Design the Signature Luxury Majlis

Bespoke Seating - The Room's Foundation

Majlis seating cannot be bought off a floor; it must be built to the room. Our in-house custom furniture studio produces continuous seating tailored to your walls’ exact geometry deep, structured comfort for three-hour gatherings, upholstered in performance velvets and jacquards that survive decades of hosting, with armrest and back profiles drawn from your chosen design language, whether Najdi restraint or Emirati grandeur.

The Feature Wall

Behind or facing the seat of honour: book-matched marble, hand-carved gypsum, fluted timber with brass inlay, or contemporary calligraphic art. One wall carries the room’s voice the rest support it in disciplined quiet.

Pattern, Craft & Calligraphy

The majlis is where regional craft belongs at full confidence: mashrabiya screens filtering daylight into geometry, sadu-inspired textiles, mother-of-pearl inlay, museum-grade calligraphy. Our approach is curation over accumulation two or three masterful craft moments outshine twenty ornamental ones.

The Service Architecture

Gahwa is a ceremony, and ceremony needs infrastructure: a preparation pantry adjacent to (never inside) the majlis, concealed service circulation, incense (bukhoor) ventilation engineered into the AC design, and discreet storage for the full ritual of hosting. These invisible systems are what separate a designed majlis from a decorated one.

The Outdoor & Tent Majlis

In both Riyadh and Dubai, the winter majlis move outside. We design garden majlis pavilions, rooftop majlis, and contemporary tent structures with our in-house landscape architecture team climate-engineered with cooling, fire features, and lighting so the outdoor season stretches from October to March in full comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a majlis interior design project cost?

Cost depends on the size of the space, the seating format, and how much custom joinery or imported material. We give a budget quotation after these details.

Should I go with traditional seating or modern sofa seating?

It depends on your gatherings or who uses the majlis. We usually walk clients through all layouts at concept stage, and hybrid arrangements work well for families who host in both styles.

How long does a majlis project take?

A typical majlis takes 5 to 12 weeks depending on custom fabrication and material lead times. We give you a timeline schedule at the start including design phase to on-site installation and handover.

Do you handle the execution or only the design?

We deliver both, including joinery, lighting, flooring, and site supervision through to handover. If you already have a contractor, we can work as designers only and coordinate with your team.
